I haven't seen a motorcycle airbag jacket like that one before.

Many riders in MotoGP wear airbag jackets, but they inflate to protect to core body and I haven't seen them do much to protect areas closer to the helmet area like that. They have not protected a couple of the top riders from breaking collarbones recently.

In any case, it's nice to see progress in this area.

Looks like a good idea...but it doesn't do anything for the lower "hard bits" such as knees, elbows, hips, etc. I would think that a "full" airbag suit would include initial protection for all extremities that would take impact...especially within the first 1-2 seconds after hitting the ground.
