Last night, I installed the neatest item on my bike...
It's made by Kuryakyn (p/n 4859 for Harley). www.kuryakyn.com
They call it the "Run-Turn-Brake controller".
It converts the rear turn signal lights to running lights and brake lights (gotta change the lenses to red, too), and when the brake is applied, you get 3 short pulse flashes, and then they stay on.
It's totally plug-in, no wire splicing.
They say it takes 15 minutes to install--it took me 5.
It really lights the rear end up nicely...
And it comes highly recommended--at least by me.

I bought it here:
www.discountcycleparts.com

As for metrics, I know they make it for Wings, but you'd have to check with Kuryakyn for others.

Thanks for the tip.
I have the Harley conversion on my 03 fxst. It allows all three rear lights (red lenses) to work as STOP LIGHTS. I like it, but heck, it doesn't pulse :(

I went to the sight to see if there was a kit for my yr/model and it doesn't seem to be available.

Guess you'll have to send a short video clip for us to see.

Hey FXSTSteve,

I have the same set up on my Heritage and I do believe that it is available for all softails.

Check out:

I am mystified why there is generally a lack of lighting on the back of our scoots. Go figure.

Ciao,
BadaBing

That's the product--looks like it'll fit almost anything--Discount Cycle saves you nearly 20 bucks, though...

Thanks for the info guys ......... BUT I have already installed

Auxiliary Brake Light/Turn Signal Conversion Kit - Bullet Lens Style

Make other riders see red. The module plugs into your existing wiring harness and adds an auxiliary brake light function to your rear turn signals. All kits require installation of DOT approved red lenses (included). PN 68284-04

To install the K...... kit would cause me to take off what I have, go back t stock, and then add the K kit. I don't think I will at this point, just to get the pulsing. I have the three lights activating as STOP lights in red now.

It looks like a good deal though!

Steve
