There's something about being filmed for TV that throws a man (who is not used to it) "off". I once got into a discussion with a reporter after I got pulled over for a random police DUI checkpoint, and ended up talking about a subject I know little about with great conviction all because I was caught in the bright lights of the camera like a rabbit, or better yet a jackass
Luckily they edited out everything but me saying;"Don't drink and drive" |

Thanks for the reminder and posting this. Seen it a few times and it never gets old. Makes me think of a few things;
When riding a crash-proof motorcycle, why look as you enter a lane of traffic ?
Computerized pilot-less cars will never work because they cannot make a computer as smart as people are stupid.
Caught up in the moment on camera; The lady cued the rider to start the demonstration. She didn't say; "Look before you pull onto the road." |

You're assuming the video was serious. I'm assuming the whole thing was a joke. |

Okay Scott, you have a point and I do fall for some punk'd type things once in a while although in my defense, I thought my few points were somewhat flippant if not making light of it.
That last one clearly indicates my attitude of blaming the woman. |

I happened to have gone through that video frame by frame years ago and have proof it was fake. This is the telling frame. The bike is intact with the truck overlapping it.

Yes, agree that the rider does not actually get hit by a truck. More on that here: http://www.asphaltandrubber.com/new...-the-scenes/
We are straying far from the initial topic, but I have always wondered how does one go through something like this frame by frame? Do you pull the video down and then open with an editing program? I am a novice when it comes to video editing. Probably someone like Mr. Crash finds it a trivial task.

Thanks for the update greywolf and the behind the scenes onthebeach.
I'll wait for the expected Onion headline to announce;
Motorcycles are now safer than ever !! Re; Undercover reporters discover fake crashes resulting in unreliable data. |
