There's a new study of Ontario accidents, comparing the relative cost and frequency of accidents on a motorcycle vs in a car. The motorcycle accidents also include mopeds, scooters etc., and I imagine that the car numbers also reflect trucks etc. Results aren't too surprising. The link is to a Toronto, Ontario, Canada radio station. At least one of the authors works at Sunnybrook Hospital, which has a trauma centre.

Edit:
One interesting aspect of the article was how many health $$ would be saved if motorcyclists chose to use cars instead. Also, since there seems to be a dearth of studies such as this, I thought it would be beneficial.

Not sure if I posted it in the right forum, please move if necessary.

Found a link to the actual study: http://www.cmaj.ca/content/189/46/E1410
