Poll Question:
What type of helmet do you wear the majority of the time? Does cruising in town versus the open highway reflect your helmet choice?

The type of helmet I wear doesn't depend on the type of riding I'm doing. I'm too cheap to own multiple helmets. One good one is enough for me.

I use full face all the time but why didn't the poll include "None"? |

LOL alton! "none" = get what you deserve.
The Tennessee summer's are SO terribly hot and humidity is nearly 70+% every day. I have always worn a full-face helmet but in the summer time I am greatly enticed by a half-lid. I know they're not even remotely safe but I was wondering what everyone else who keeps up with this forum is sportin' on their noggin' |

Which type of flip up did you mean? The ones that look like full face helmets, or the one with the clear plastic on the front that looks like a police riot helmet?
I use an HJC CL-Max myself. |

I assumed he meant the ones that look like a FF. Mine's an HJC Symax. |

I have four helmets to choose from. They're all full face Shoei helmets. If I ride the red bike, I wear a red helmet. If I ride the yellow bike, it's an older red helmet if I'm just riding two miles to work, or the matching yellow helmet if I'm going any further.
I've scraped the chin bar of more than one helmet, so I don't even consider open face helmets. |

Full face all the time.
Mine is fully vented so it's not even that hot, even in very hot temps.
My wife's father (in Colombia) almost died in a motorcycle accident. If it wasn't for the fact that he was wearing a full face helmet, he would have died.
I'll never wear anything but a full face.
All in all I think the results (so far) of this poll are very encouraging. Too bad I think the results of our sample would not reflect the true population of all riders. |

I use a 3/4 helmet with a full face shield that I can open to 3 or 4 positions besides full down. |

I have three helmets (one full face and 2 - 3/4 ones). I would guess that it became a progressive thing as I received the white 3/4 as a gift from my sis and bought the black 3/4 when I bought the bike. After visiting this site I quickly realized that this was not enough and purchased a "Zeus" full face however realized that the visual periphery is significantly less than the 3/4 and takes a lot of getting used to. The 3/4 s go to my occasional passengers but include the visor. |
