The nice thing about the internet is that there is something for just about everyone. The Get Your Motor Running Chat Forum was designed to be a place where our friends can get together and discuss things of common interest, share some biking experiences and have some fun. Conversely, it is not the optimum place for protracted discussion about controversial topics such as politics and religion. In many cases it has been a difficult situation to manage, and moderate, as it proves more often than not, that it is an arduous task to separate the personalities from the issues. This is especially true if there is passionate advocacy on both sides of an issue.
However, there are internet sites that have totally, or partially, dedicated their content to address these issues. If you feel very passionate about a specific issue and feel a need to weigh in on it, I invite and implore you to visit the following websites:
BikerHeaven B*tch & Moan & Politics & all sorts of other stuff
Motorcycle Safety Store War Room
Both of these sites have done a pretty admirable job in allowing for self-expression on specific controversial topics while keeping the discussion on point. At the end of the day visiting a message board should not be a mutually exclusive thing as there is room to visit many of them. The diversity in how we see things only serves in getting us closer to the truth. And besides, the friendly coexistence of many boards only compels each of the boards to do its best to provide you information that is of, both, interest and of value. Ultimately, this is what a message board community hangs its hat on.
We thank you for keeping the The Get Your Motor Running Chat Forum a place that is primarily geared to be a nexus for all of us to stay connected and to have a modicum of fun. We appreciate your adding strength, and diversity, to the fabric and texture of this digital community. We know that there are a lot of places on the internet that you can choose to be a part of and are very grateful of your continued commitment in building and enhancing our little cyber-community.
Ciao and Thanks,
