Poll Question:
We've all gotten a lot of good advice and read quite a few differing opinions on many subjects here. I've often wondered what age groups are represented on these forums so I've put together this poll.
I'll start us off with the first vote, I'm 66.

I think you're just proving that this is a site for old fogeys, since I see 7 votes so far spread evenly from 36 on up. |

Yup, we have a pretty good bell curve of 36 to 65 year olds right now.

Do you have to be a member of AARP to post on this site? |

Well at 26 I can tell you I greatly appreciate all you old fogey's around here. There's no substitute for experience and everyone is willing to share valuable information and suggestions. Which in turn helps me ride safer and hopefully ensure's I make it to old fogey status myself one day. |

I'm 52....been riding since I was a kid. Got married and had a son. Stopped riding while we grew up (he's now 18). I had one of those "16yr old girl makes a left turn in front of you" experiences and stopped riding because I thought it was an extra risk. I stopped smoking too. I started to ride as a way to have a "get out of the house" hobby. But I DO consider the safety issue much more than anytime in my life because it's what I DON'T HAVE CONTROL OF that is the mitigating factor to me.
I only wish I had an acronym for the "16yr old girl makes a left turn in front of you" experience" as I think it's all too common. |

I'm 44 now and motorcycling is the solution to my mid-life crisis. I semi-joke with my wife that it's a hullava lot cheaper than going after a young thang just to see if still "got it".
That being said, I remember thinking, back in my early 20's, that a guy my age was O-L-D. My, how my opinion has changed with time! Now I think of 65 like it ain't gonna be that bad..Oi. |

I'm 56 and bought my first bike 3 months ago. That is old. For everyone else except me. I think this motorcycle thing is a good way to stay young. |

I rode my first motorcycle at 55...and I'm wondering if there is such a thing as a prescription visor with a progressive lense.

I don't really know how this poll function works - I thought this poll was done? How does it tally the "votes"?
Well, here's me: 27 yrs old, got the bike in Feb. when I was 26 (as I approach 30 every little bit is becoming more important to me :P). Since it's now March/April, I'd say I have about one month of experience |

I know the polls are closed already but I am 36 and I just started riding about 4 weeks ago! Took the MSF class in mid-March and got a brand new bike two weeks after that! Safety first!! |

At 19, statistically I have the honor of the "most likely to f**k up and crash" title.
I shall set out to prove this wrong. |
