I was reading the Ride Bright section of the iowadot.gov site.
It's interesting that they talk about HID lights and auxiliary lighting.

Here's what they said:
What you can do to be more visible
? Wear lighter color clothes and helmet. (Fluorescent yellow and orange are best in daylight.)
? Use a headlamp modulator, add auxiliary lighting or install a HID headlamp.
? Use retroreflective material on your clothing and your bike ? especially if you ride at night.
? Position yourself strategically in your lane where you may be better seen.

First of all, I was under the impression from various forums discussions that HID headlamps were illegal for on road use.
Secondly, it's great that they recommend auxiliary lighting. I've been dealing with the Oregon authorities on that issue.

If I was there, I would certainly attend.
Wish Oregon had something like this and if they do, I wish I would know about it.

Thanks for the link.

gymnast,
I took your advice and signed up for Team Oregon's newsletter.
I also see they have a calender for events and great links to motorcycle organizations.
I used the Team Oregon website a while back for signing up for my Basic Training, but I neglected to explore the other resources available.
I'm glad you pointed this out to me.
Thanks
